SCRIPTURE: Where there is no vision, the people perish. (Proverbs 29:18)
THE ENTREPRENEUR’S REFLECTION
Why are you here? Not “here” on Earth, but “here” reading this page? Most people cannot answer that question with precision. They say, “I want to be rich,” or “I want to help people.” These are not visions; these are hallucinations. A vision is a high-resolution image of a future reality that is so compelling it makes your current reality intolerable.
In behavioral economics, we understand that human beings are “loss averse” we fear losing $100 more than we desire gaining $100. However, a powerful vision hacks this psychology. It makes you feel that by not taking action, you are losing the future you deserve. If you do not have a clear destination, you cannot optimize the route. You cannot build a unicorn if you are mentally architecting a spaza shop. The scale of your thoughts determines the scale of your bank account.
Your vision determines how big you will grow. Success doesn’t happen by chance, you don’t become wealthy by accident, you design your way to success. You must stop treating your business goals like New Year’s resolutions and start treating them like engineering blueprints. If you want to build a skyscraper, you don’t just “start laying bricks” and hope it goes high. You dig a
hole deep enough to support the height. The “Why” is the depth of the hole. If you are here just to pay rent, you will only build a structure high enough to pay rent. If you are here to change the GDP of Zimbabwe or Nigeria, you need to dig a deeper foundation today. Set your vision and set it right. Use the day today to visit your vision and rework it for growth.
PRAYER / CONFESSION
Lord, expand my capacity to dream. I reject the spirit of smallness. I ask for a divine download of the blueprint for my life and business. Let my vision be so clear that it pulls me through the difficult days. I am not building a monument to myself, but a vessel for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
THE EXECUTION PROTOCOL
The Obituary Test: Write the headline of your business’s success story in the year 2036. What does it say? “Local Man Pays Rent” or “Tech Giant Solves Africa’s Logistics Crisis”? How do you want people to remember you? When you are dead and gone will your name and legacy die with you or will you build a legacy that will last several life times ?
The ‘Why’ Stack: Ask yourself why you want to succeed. Then ask “why” to that answer. Do this 5 times until you hit the emotional core (e.g., “So my children never have to bow to debt”).
Visual Anchoring: Change your phone wallpaper to an image that represents your specific target for Dec 31, 2026. Every time you unlock your phone, you are reminded of the mission.
