SCRIPTURE: By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established. (Proverbs 24:3)
THE ENTREPRENEUR’S REFLECTION
You hired your first person in January to buy back time. Now you must hire for scale. You hire skills for tasks, but you hire culture for destiny. The wrong hire is not just a loss of salary; it is an infection that kills the entire atmosphere of your house. Culture is not about beanbag chairs; it is about shared non-negotiable values. If your value is “speed,” hire someone who hates slow processes. If your value is “honesty,” fire someone the moment they lie. Your culture is the collective behavior of your team. You must establish the rules of the house with wisdom and understanding, because a strong culture is the bedrock of a scalable enterprise.
PRAYER / CONFESSION
Father, grant me the wisdom to build my house on the right foundation. I ask for the discernment to hire not just skills, but character and alignment. Let my culture be defined by excellence and integrity. Help me to attract and retain individuals who are committed to the establishment of this vision. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
THE EXECUTION PROTOCOL
Define Core Values: Write down the top 3 non-negotiable values of your business (e.g., Integrity, Speed, Customer Obsession).
Culture Interview: When hiring or delegating next, ask behavioral questions that test these values (e.g., “Tell me about a time you missed a deadline and what you did”).
Reward the Values: Publicly praise an existing employee or partner for demonstrating one of the core values today.
