SCRIPTURE: Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed. (Proverbs 15:22)
THE ENTREPRENEUR’S REFLECTION
No enterprise scales in isolation. The founder, no matter how brilliant, has blind spots. You need a trusted, diverse group of advisers—a personal advisory council—who offer counsel without needing to be paid or having a vote on your board. These advisers should be successful in areas where you are weak (e.g., if you are strong in sales but weak in finance, find a finance mentor). This is not just networking; it is strategic input. Success is not guaranteed by your own plans; it is secured by the wisdom of many trusted advisers who can see the dangers you miss.
PRAYER / CONFESSION
Lord, I pray for the humility to seek counsel and the wisdom to choose many godly advisers. Help me to identify the blind spots in my enterprise and the counsel I need to overcome them. I commit to creating space in my life for strategic input, trusting that my plans will succeed through the strength of my council. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Identify the Gaps: Name two areas where you feel least competent right now (e.g., Legal, High-Level HR).
Name the Advisers: List two people (mentors, established professionals) who excel in those specific areas.
The Engagement Request: Send a simple request to one of those individuals today, asking for a 15-minute conversation to gain their “expert opinion” on a specific challenge.
