SCRIPTURE: The laborer is worthy of his wages. (1 Timothy 5:18) THE ENTREPRENEUR’S REFLECTION

Hourly billing is a trap for the service entrepreneur, trading time for money. Value-Based Pricing (VBP) means you are paid based on the measurable outcome you deliver, not the hours you spend. If you charge $50/hour, you are capped. If you charge $2,000 to “increase their lead conversion rate by 10%,” your earning potential is unlimited. Your wages are worthy because the value of the result to the client (who may gain $10,000 in new sales) is exponentially higher than the time you invested. Shift your focus in pitches from “What I will do” to “What they will gain.”

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Father, I thank You that the laborer is worthy of his wages. I pray for the confidence to charge based on the transformative value I deliver, rather than the input of my time. Help me to articulate the measurable outcomes of my work clearly, ensuring my pricing reflects the true impact on my client’s enterprise. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Define Client Value: For your main service, estimate the financial gain or time saved for the average client over 6 months (e.g., “$5,000 in saved payroll,” or “$12,000 in new sales”).

Calculate VBP: Set your price at no more than 10-20% of that total client value.

Re-Write the Pitch: Write a 2-sentence pitch that quotes the VBP and focuses only on the outcome (e.g., “We charge $1,500 to secure your next 3 high-value clients.”)
